Bulldog 2007 Article 132(8-26-07)48 hours to do the right thing
(Ahimsa’s campaign: 424-8388)
Please, please, please give some money to the Ahimsa Sumchai for mayor campaign within the next 48 hours. If we can do nothing else, we can insure that the first black woman to run for mayor (and, she’s highly qualified and a genuine Progressive) … we can make certain she is able to get into the Public Financing program we worked so hard to create. It would be a travesty if she were pushed off the money train by the late entry of Quintin Mecke.
Hey, give to Mecke. But, give to Ahimsa first. Just to be first, be on both donor lists when they come in. It will be your proof that you aren’t a racist and a sexist. Matt Gonzalez is on both lists. You do it too. She was there first. She’s more qualified. Have your young white men all you want, but let a black woman have a chair at the table for the first time.
Sorry I don’t have better contact info but I live in a tiny room and sometimes I have trouble even finding my door through all the antique campaign posters.
Burners back black beauty
Bon voyage to all you hedonistic malcontents headed for the desert to do unspeakable things (smoke a joint for me out there) as you pause to call Ahimsa’s campaign headquarters ((415) 424-8388 on your way out of town.
I promise that if you make that call and give something to give Ahimsa a boost that you’ll have twice as much fun this week. Grab this last chance to buy a Bulldog indulgence in advance of your certain sins.
While Burners are away, their cat-sitters play
I’m with Bulldog Publisher, Alexandra Jones’ feisty kitties while she pedals the surreal encampment at Black Rock this week. You can’t believe how much I enjoy all these sitting gigs. I live in my friends’ million dollar gigs with all the latest appliances while they go grovel in the mesa or fight for their lives against rattlesnakes and rapids in some god-forsaken hinterland.
It’s a radical change of pace for us all. I get out of my packing crate and take long hot baths. They fight for their lives and dream of being back in those tubs. Their plants and animals are happy to have someone in the house who never deserts them for such mundane pursuits as paying jobs and who pays attention to them full-time.
Your vacation is my vacation is the way I look at it. But, to be honest, I do envy you all. I once calculated and I’ve spent almost 2 years of my life living in one tent or another in a survival mode and some of the best memories of my life come from that era.
Mayoral Collaborative Party next Friday after debate
Alexandra told me to have a party for the Mayoral Collaborative at her place while she’s choking on dust in the desert and I happily agreed. When else does a Tenderloin rat like me get to stroll through a huge shotgun apartment that walks and looks like an art museum … champagne glass in hand … and be the host?!?
I’ll phone the individual members of the Collaborative as well as those who refused to join and see if we can get them all together. Here are their vital stats if you want to snag an invite. As always, eat before you arrive cause I ain’t feeding you and BYOB and an extra beer or glass of wine for me.
