Watching City Hall #456 (4-26-06)Watching City Hall #456
Tim Redmond is a hypocritical piece of shit.
(and, other items)
Those of us who’ve read the Bay Guardian for the past several decades have sympathized with the complaints of Publisher, Bruce Brugmann and his Executive Editor, Tim Redmond that the San Francisco Chronicle has refused to admit that the Raker Act exists and that the SF City Attorney’s office has refused to enforce it for 7 decades or so. As Brugmann and Redmond tell us over and over, the issue has been ignored by the major press to the point of being disappeared. It is invisible to them because they do not want their readership to know anything about it. The Chronicle and the enemies of Raker have, in short, ignored it and hoped that it would go away. Only the Bay Guardian had the courage to print the story of the ‘disappeared’ legislation.
Well, what about Krissy Keefer for Congress?
For years, Krissy Keefer was a hero to the Bay Guardian. They made her one of their ‘all stars’ or whatever they call those awards they give. They acknowledged her enormous contributions to local renegade dance theater and her leading role in the LGBT community. Now, along with Randy Shaw of beyondchron, Brugmann and Redmond are trying to disappear Krissy Keefer. Why? Your guess is as good as mine. Perhaps they’re taking money from PG&E now and have been ordered to make the Green Party’s endorsed Congressional candidate disappear.
The front page of this morning’s Bay Guardian carried an interview that Tim Redmond did with Matt Gonzalez this week. Oh, they’re so very thoughtful. The two old boys pontificate on and on about Nancy Pelosi and whether Matt should have run against her. If Matt mentioned to Redmond that, in fact, there was already a Green Party candidate (Keefer) and that he’d not only endorsed her, but had promised to do a fundraiser for her in June, then Redmond cut it out. I certainly hope that’s what happened. But, I don’t believe that for a minute.
This is the second consecutive week in which Redmond and Brugmann and the Guardian have published advertising and editorial content encouraging Gonzalez to repudiate his endorsement of Keefer. … Without even mentioning Keefer’s name. … Or, her Green Party endorsement. Last week, the online Guardian crowned the web site created by Gonzalez law partner, Enrique Pearce, first signed by Gonzalez roommate, Jim Dorenkott and constructed in secret by Rob Arnow … dubbed it their ’site of the week’ or some such shit. All the while, Gonzalez has claimed he has nothing to do with the site or the effort to backstab the woman whom the Chronicle called: “The lesbian Cecille B. DeMille of San Francisco dance.”.
Let me tell you this about that. Jim Dorenkott doesn’t go to the bathroom without asking Gonzalez if it’s OK. Like, I’m supposed to believe that Jim put the first knife between Keefer’s shoulder blades without asking Matt if it was OK? All inquiries to Matt’s office regarding the attack upon Krissy are referred to his law partner and campaign manager, Enrique Pearce. Do you truly believe that Gonzalez knows nothing about this?
Notice they’re all men
This underhanded campaign is an attack upon all of the women of San Francisco by Matt Gonzalez, Tim Redmond, Bruce Brugmann, Enrique Pearce, Jim Dorenkott, Rob Arnow and Randy Shaw. Every single one of them are too chickenshit to face a powerful woman face-to-face. Should I add Warren Hellman? Someone called last evening to note that the newest signature on Matt’s petition was Warren Hellman who noted that Matt is: “The face of future California politics.” Hellman is the Republican financier who is chief economic adviser to both Arnold Schwartzenegger and Gavin Newsom. Who’s gonna take on Krissy next, Bugs Bunny?
Gonzalez could have stopped this a month ago. Instead, he’s fed the fire. The interview with Brugmann is several thousand dollars worth of free advertising and you better fucking believe that he knows it. The fact that he’s completely oblivious to how this makes him look to women proves he’s not fit for the office, even if through subterfuge, he were able to capture it. I know for certain that if Gonzalez is able to dump Keefer by these methods, I’ll be first in line to donate some of my welfare money to Nancy Pelosi who will be the last defense in San Francisco against the misogynist forces who brought down Keefer.
The end of Matt Gonzalez
The only way Gonzalez can save his political career is to toss Jim Dorenkott out of his house. And, of course, fire Enrique Pearce from his law firm. Then, he needs to phone Krissy Keefer with an apology and schedule that fundraiser. To say that these boys have made their boss look bad is a humungous understatement. Brugmann can save face for the Guardian by sending the sexist dog, Tim Redmond packing. Nothing can save Shaw who has been a transparent poverty pimp since the Nixon years. If Redmond wants a scoop, he should expose the fact that Shaw owns the property that houses the THC through a straw party and has for years. That an upset Timid Redmond (who sends computer viruses - look out) … that Redmond would attack the the guy who founded the Haight/Ashbury Clinics which are quality health facilities for owning some of their spaces … and, say nothing of Shaw who runs vermin infested hovels full of uncontrolled junkies and thugs …
Calling all sisters
Matt Gonzalez used to listen to me. He doesn’t anymore. Maybe he’ll listen to you. Write him and tell him that this campaign being run on his behalf is a terrible idea. It’s tearing the Progressive movement apart and he’s got to do something about it other than give featured interviews in which he blows smoke up his own ass (no easy feat) without mentioning the candidate he’s already endorsed.
And Matt … congratulations on your Hellman endorsement … the way that Arnow set up your web site, Warren can’t even take it back. In Mattworld, only Matt can take back endorsements.
So, put on your nice, bright red, ‘Krissy for Congress’ campaign button guy; toss Pearce and Dorenkott and suck it up. Save yourself while you can. All you have to do is double-cross a few more people.
