Watching City Hall #451

(4-5-06)

“Keefer Madness!

(Salon brainstorms)

Eileen:   (scrunched in a corner in her leotard, makes notes on a prescription pad, chewing pen as she speaks)

“She bills herself as ‘wicked witch’ … do some kind
of play off of that … what rhymes with ‘witch’?
… ‘pitch’, ‘which’, ‘switch’, ‘Mitch’, ‘kitsch’.

h.:   (reading email)

“Don’t even refer to Pelosi.  Don’t mention the
Democrats at all.    Do stuff like:  ‘ …

Someone wrote that the best thing that could happen for the Democrats would be for Krissy Keefer to beat Nancy Pelosi.    If they ever needed a wakeup call announcing they’re headed in the wrong direction with no clear plan for any future, that would be it.    Losing their top position in the congress because they refused to take a serious position on anything.

So, the Keefer campaign continues as the most intriguing political project in town.    Pelosi announces that she has a list of nearly 27,000 names of people she’s done favors for.    A Keefer supporter retorts that this leaves 225,000 San Franciscans free to vote their conscience.   … “Intriguing ‘candidacy’, I should say.    The defining issue of the moment is the issue of Laguna Honda and it has already separated the assholes from the angels.    Here’s what’s going down.

Schizo SFPO Soiree’

(Screwed Seniors scream scam)

Let’s see if you can figure this one out for me.    First, a wide array of local Progressives band together to form an organization.    Oh, it includes a few Demo party hacks like Debra Walker (nice lady, great artist, big supporter of Heather Hiles?) and Mike Casey (we march with him and his hotel workers and he rewards us by backing a Mills Corp. incursion into our precious waterfront recreation area)  and Michael Goldstein and Julian Davis  …  include these people for the purpose of ‘coalition building’ and just to make it spicy, and everyone slaps you on the back and says things like:  “She/he shares our core values.    Well, that’s a bunch of bullshit.

SFPO opposes protecting LHH Seniors

Democratic party hacks like Walker & labor leaders like Casey, Mike Hardeman and SEIU’s Robert Haaland (more Demo hacks) would sell your grandmother down the river in exchange for a few new members.    In fact, they just did.    Now, they want you to buy the KY jelly and condoms.     Pay attention.

SFPO already co-opted?

Well, that didn’t take long now did it?    ‘Progressive’ organization SFPO joined with Downtown scions SPUR and the Chamber of Commerce in a move to pour more crippled gang-bangers into the old folks home at Laguna Honda Hospital.    They’re joined by Gavin Newsom, SFSOS, and the Committee for Jobs in this attack upon the most vulnerable of the City’s poor.

Oh, and Chris Daly and Ross Mirkarimi and Tom Ammiano are all bending over for this Downtown ream job too, so bring lots of KY.   This one, this one is the granddaddy of all fuck jobs.    Old people are being harassed, beaten and murdered and these ‘Progressives’ say it’s OK because the gang bangers bring shorter stays and more dollars per bed and thus more union jobs and that means more union dues which Haaland promises to Daly and Mirkarimi and Ammiano.    And, fuck those old people.    They were gonna die anyway.    So, this is the new ‘Progressive’ paradise?

Irony of Ironies

Apparently Downtown didn’t pay SFPO for this particular piece of ass, so here they come hat-in-hand asking for money to fund the kind of flyers they’ve started handing out at community meetings that call the attempt to keep Laguna Honda for the frail and elderly, calling it:  “a land grab.    Uh huh, and if I want to keep pedophiles from working in nursery schools, is that a “land grab too?   …   But, that’s not the irony.

The irony is that the featured performer in this Saturday’s SFPO fundraising auction is Matt Gonzalez.    The same Matt Gonzalez who is leading the forces to keep Laguna Honda for the old folks.    C’mon, that’s gotta have you laughing.    I called Matt and asked him about this seeming contradiction.

Hey, it’s my fault.    At least partly.    When SFPO was forming last year, I bought all their bullshit.    I pushed Matt to promise some fundraisers for them and he agreed.    This is one of those fundraisers.   I recall at the time that Eileen Left listened and sounded off with a prescient line:  “Why should he raise money for them when he’s going to be fighting them as soon as the DCCC takes them over?   As usual, Eileen was right.    Gonzalez’s only comment?    “Hey, this is just one issue but I have to ask, who else favors Prop D?

Well, there’s me, Matt.    And, there’s all of the doctors and nurses and old folks at Laguna Honda and their families.    Joe O’Donoghue?    Barbara Mescunas.   Tony Hall and Girardo Sandoval and … Fiona Ma?     Every limited income senior is with you.    You go guy and we’ll cheer.     It is just so terribly discouraging when an issue such as this one points out how deeply the fissure between the Democrats and the Progressives is and the segments of society the Demo hacks are willing to sacrifice for union donations.

So, Gonzalez, the man of his word, will be the auctioneer at the SFPO fundraiser this Saturday at 111 Minna between 7:30pm & midnight.    Unless they block me at the door, I’ll take em up on their comp ticket and cruise in to watch yet another incomprehensible San Francisco spectacle.     Helping raise money to hire your own assassin.   Who but a San Franciscan would do that?    Fuck a bunch of old people.   We’ve got Robert Haaland’s future to think about here.
